I bought a new camera. Something smaller than the workhorses I currently use. I wanted to give it a test and I had a coupled of gigs coming up. See, I go to a lot of gigs. I never take camera gear unless I've been asked to work it.
But this camera is small. So I popped a message to a couple of bands I was going to see to ask if they'd mind me turning up with a camera. They both obliged.
